Test Engineer - cropr
Can you make our robot perform under pressure? At cropr, we’re looking for a Test Engineer (or Experimental Physicist?) to take the lead in testing our autonomous agricultural robot. You translate technical questions into measurable experiments, execute them with precision, and feed the results back to the team.
Whether it’s laser performance, sensor systems or overall field functionality – you define the test plan, carry out measurements, analyze the results, and deliver clear reports. You’ll work closely with engineers and product developers to make our prototype better, more robust, and smarter.
What`s in it for you?
A competitive salary (based on your knowledge, skills, and experience)
25 vacation days per year (based on a full-time contract), with the option to buy additional days
A key role in validating new technology in real-world conditions
Lots of room for personal input and a hands-on role with real impact
Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers
You
You have a bachelor's or master’s degree in (applied) physics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a similar field
You have experience designing and running structured tests
You know how to measure, analyze, reason logically, and report clearly
You have basic experience with Python, for example to process test results or measurement data
You’re curious, accurate, and think critically about what does and doesn’t work
You enjoy hands-on work in the field or workshop
What you’ll be working on
As a Test Engineer at cropr, you develop test plans for various robot subsystems – from lasers to drivetrain. You carry out tests both in the workshop and out in the field, translate raw data into insights, and turn those into clear recommendations for the design team.
You’ll work closely with software, electronics and mechanical engineers, and play a key role in validating design decisions for the next generation of cropr prototypes.
Your responsibilities
Develop test plans and measurement strategies for subsystems and the complete product
Set up and run tests in the workshop or out in the field
Collect, organize and analyze measurement data
Report findings and advise on design improvements
Collaborate with fellow engineers to interpret and act on results
Help ensure product quality and reliability
About cropr
At cropr, we’re building an autonomous agricultural robot that selectively eliminates weeds without using pesticides. Lasers, AI, robotics and real-world field conditions all come together in this machine. After the success of our tulip robot (developed under H2L Robotics), we’re now taking the next step: building a robust, scalable product – tested and proven. You’ll help us uncover the facts.
Interested but have doubts?
Not 100% sure you meet all the requirements? No problem. At cropr, we value people who like to build, test, and improve – experience is great, but motivation matters just as much.
