What you’ll do as Test & Support Engineer

In this role, you take ownership of how our robots perform in daily use. The role is diverse and hands-on, ideal for someone who enjoys both engineering and practical fieldwork.

You will:

  • Support field operations during the tulip and potato seasons (roughly March–April and mid‑May–July), sometimes early or long days.

  • Occasional irregular hours and travelling during the seasons.

  • Visit client sites to assist with testing, troubleshooting, and collecting product feedback.

  • Analyse test data, identify root causes, and propose improvement actions to the engineering teams.

  • Execute functional and reliability tests on mechanical, electrical, and software components and complete clear test reports.

  • Set up and improve test rigs, prototypes, and measurement setups.

  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to validate new designs and releases.

  • Help keep prototypes, test areas, and test equipment organised, safe, and ready for use.

What you bring

Must-haves

  • MBO/HBO degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or similar.

  • 1–5 years of relevant technical experience (testing, assembly, service, or similar).

  • Experience with basic test equipment and structured documentation (test reports, checklists, tickets).

  • Experience assembling mechanical or electrical systems (e.g. machines, panels, or prototypes).

  • Driver’s licence B.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

  • Able to work independently, stay proactive, and handle seasonal peak periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Driver’s licence B+E.

  • Basic experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, or similar) or logging systems.

About H2L Robotics

At H2L Robotics we develop cutting-edge robotic solutions that transform the agricultural sector. Our tulip robot already helps growers by detecting and treating diseased plants with precision, and is in full production. Our new potato robot takes the next step in sustainable farming technology. With advanced sensors and machine learning, it enables efficient and environmentally friendly potato management. This project is now in a crucial development phase with huge market potential.

We are a dynamic company with around 20 employees and offer an open and autonomous working environment. There is plenty of room for flexibility and the freedom to organize your own work. Therefore, it is important that you can work independently, proactively identify pain points, and propose solutions where you see opportunities.
